Dream Phone - iPhone

Buy One for Me?

This is my dream phone. For now. (Yes, I need to put a disclaimer for wants and desires. Afterall, true to an online shopaholic, they do change like the weather now and then.)

Let me see the reasons why I want to get it:

  1. It looks absolutely droolicious.
  2. The functions are really quite cool.
  3. Madonna have it first.
  4. I can't get it in Singapore, so basically the rule of you want what you can't get applies. (Even if I get it from Singapore, it will be a non-legal version, ie. cracked/hacked version. So not particularly willing to risk the $$ on it.)
  5. My current phone is dying on me, I need a new one (which justify that this is not simply a want, it is a need too!)
  6. It is the current latest rave for phones.

I am not sure for you, how many reasons out of the above coincides with mine. But well, girls sometimes do not have reasons to want anyway. :)

Now this is yet the time again I envy the US people. You are in the shopping heaven. (Hmm, ok, pros and cons, we do have cheaper clothes in Asia, with the latest Japanese/Korean fashion.)

So anyway, if you are really interested in the phone. Get it! I say. And get your boyfriend to get it for you, I'll say again. (Well, apply both to girls and guys. *cheeky*)

For me, I'll just have to settle to using my old Sony Ericsson K750i till it finally dies on me, I guess.

How do you like to smell like?

I like to smell lovely and delicious.

Well, I've just stated 2 of my staple, favorite, cannot-live-without fragrance, Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely and DKNY Be-Delicious. Add one more, which is Lanvin Eclat D'Arpege (the price for this is getting really affordable nowadays, I like).

Did I mentioned I am a Sex and the City fanatic, fan, craze? :)

So when I heard that Sarah Jessica Parker was coming out with a new fragrance then, I was absolutely over-the-top with anticipation.
A while after it launched, I went to test the fragrance. I still remember the first time I tested it, with the testing paper strip, I was disappointed.

In fact, I think it smell horrible then. My internal emotions was warring between not buying a fragrance which I think smell horrible and buying a fragrance by Sarah Jessica Parker.

In the end, I won.

But few weeks later, not wanting to give up, or simply refusing to acknowledge the fact that SJP's fragrance can smell horrible, I went to test it again. This time, I spray it directly on myself, over my left shoulder. I still remember I was wearing a cardigan then. And I was rushing to catch a movie with a friend when I sneak into the store to test spray the fragrance. During the movie, there sat a crazy gal who kept constantly smelling her left shoulder. Just course it smelt really nice! Then I realize, this fragrance is a keeper. You know, if a fragrance can produce that kind of really nice smelling smell after interacting with your own body, you know it is a must buy, must collect, must possess.

I fell in love with SJP's and her Lovely there and then. And the rest is history.

I Had to Have It!

And the reason for this post is also to let those who don't know yet, Sarah Jessica Parker is out with her latest fragrance. Covet.OMG, don't you already love the name. Covet. I have not tested it yet as I seldom go out of the house nowadays. Anyone who tried it, let me know how you find it? I've got a feeling it will be like Lovely, un-seeming at first smell, but after it settles on you, it will be heavenly. There is a holiday set for Covet now on Amazon.com in US. Wonder if it is on sale in Singapore too.

Just bought Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea Perfume for my mother too, when I was shoppng at duty free at the airport when flying back. She wanted something that smells young she said. And this fragrance is recommended by the auntie serving me when I told her my requirements. (Ouch, did I mentioned my mum was offended when I told her this fragrance was recommended by an auntie, so should be similar to her taste too, she said she herself is NO auntie ok! Oops!)

Anyway, was thinking, maybe it is time to increase my own collection of fragrance.

Well, you have to agree, you can't help but to covet COVET right? I have to have it.

BustedTees

Been looking at some sprees conducted by mcnymphs and others at sgspree.
This one caught my eye, BustedTees.com

There is free shipping within US now. And we can make use of that, then shipped it over via vPOSTUSA. Anyway the spree is closed now. Waiting for another spree-er to open it, or should I open one? Hmmm.

Reason why I am interested in this site is that it is cheaper than 80stees.com. I bought 2 miss tee's from 80stees before and I wear them quite often nowadays.
Now still wondering should I join the sprees or organize one.

Finally got my blog back

Did I mentioned that my blog was hijacked for quite a while some months ago?
Well, finally got it back. Thanks to the Blogger team!
What do I mean by hijacked? Well, simply put, the account was stolen by someone else, and they replaced all my content with their ads and stuff. Yucky.
Anyway, my bimbo-ness is back, and I am shopping more than ever.
From the time before hijack to now, I have established myself as a spree organizer. While, since if I love shopping, might as well find people to share the love with me yeah! :)
So this blog will be revived! :)

Dresses from Ailiyo

Finally received the batch of dresses from Ailiyo spree. In total, I ordered 7 dresses, out of 5 belongs to my friend. :) But we opened up and looked at the dresses together so I can have a feel on how the dresses are like. :)

First, let's see the dresses I bought. Both of us got this beige dress, actually I have been eyeing it for very long. Local online shopping site which sells in-stock item directly are selling it at around SGD$25 to SGD$32 I think. I was apprehensive about buying it as I am scared that I could not fit in, especially bust area. But I am VERY happy that I can. Hee~

The picture on the right shows the dress that is shown on the site and also me wearing the dress. As you can see, the dress is not so beigish but more like pearly white. All in all, it feels and look terrific. As quoted from my friend, it is "cheaptastic"! Hee~

I also ordered this dress on the left, but in black color. But sadly, as I have humongous arms, I could not fit into the armholes of this dress.

My friend bought the dresses below. I like how the polka dots dress feel, it is really soft and chiffony. I thought the dress looks better than the displayed photo actually.

Shopping down the orchard lane

Anyway, there is the Mango sale currently in Singapore. Just so for those that is interested. I bought a tank top that has "I'm Ready to Fly" in front for SGD$23. cheap. And well, the words were inspiring. At least for me.

Then I dropped by to Kinokuniya, and got myself two books. Will elaborate on these 2 books in another later entry.

But my best buy for the day is this DIOR inspired bag. I love it. It's white. Buttery. Big. And the handles are of the right length. As mentioned it is inspired. So it is not considered an imitation. No DIOR label. etc etc. But well it looks more or less same as the branded bags themselves.

My bag look like this on the left.

Nice right! :)

It can put alot of stuff, including my laptop (which is precisely the reason I got it.)

Okie, I really really really should stop spending so much money. Considering the fact that I am so unhappy about my job enough to even contemplate whether anot to keep it. Sigh.

Anyway, this find at Far East Plaza leads me to think about what I saw online last night. I saw this spree on Inspired YSL Dome Muse Bag. I think it looks really nice. And today when I saw it at a shop at Far East, I cannot help but went and ask how much are they selling. So they are selling at 59++ if I remember correctly. On the spree it was SGD$45. Hee and on the spree, they have it in medium size, which is cooler, coz the large one is really quite big. Then there are the Coach inspired bags. I love the clutches. Only SGD$29 bucks. The Burberry namecard holder is SGD$15 bucks. Nice right!

But nop, I cannot spend anymore. I do not need an extra clutch (really?) nor a chic namecard holder (really???) nor another big structured bag (really????) Haha.... However, if any of my friends (yeah, friends or cousins or family that are currently reading this) are interested. I can help u find out if it is still available. :)

And you know, I came across this shop at Far East selling VS Body Splash at SGD$36.50 (which is really EXPENSIVE, considering if you know how much the original cost is) My cousin is only selling hers at SGD$17 bucks online lor. Must remember to remind her that she is really selling it cheaply (as compared to sellers out there).

And this Majolica Majorca mascara, Eyelash Expander 15x length, I bought it at around max SGD$20 bucks if I did not remember wrongly. But that shop is selling at SGD$39.90 lor. Winner, the amount of profit they are trying to make. It is really a rip off lor.

Sorry, I just have to say that luckily nowadays, it seems like the buyers are more intelligent than be subjected to such ripoff prices. (Well, I can only hope so.)

Commonly Ordered Drugstore.com's Items in Sprees

Drugstore.com is one of the sites where you keep seeing people opening new sprees every other day. Orders from Beauty.com is also considered under Drugstore. com. And you wonder what is it at that site that prompts the large amount of people that are willing to buy from it. But then, their Burt's Bees and GNC are really cheap.

Personally, I got my Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask through one of the Drugstore sprees. It was only USD$3.29 and add another SGD$3-5 bucks for shipping and postage. This Mint Mask is one of the items that most people ordered during a drugstore's spree.

So I thought to just browse through some of the ongoing spree, and list some of the items that I keep seeing people order over and over again, for example, the Green Tea diet capsules, almost everyone that ordered in a drugstore spree will have that in their order list.

So here goes:
  1. e.l.f items: Most of e.l.f items are USD$1 bucks. Worth a try.

  2. Applied Nutrition Green Tea Diet, Gel Caps 30 ea: USD$5.56, heard that it give you energy and also help suppress appetite during the day. Banking on Green Tea as an ingredients, no wonder it is so popular. Oh coz, not to mentioned cheap.
  3. Queen Helene Masque, Mint Julep 8oz: USD$3.29. Good clay mask. And the mint really gives a refreshing feel. Cheap too.

  4. Burt's Bee items: Same as above, its all cheap cheap. :) Around USD$3++. I bought the cuticle cream to try before.

  5. Max Factor mascara: You can't get Max Factor in Singapore. And their mascara are only USD$3-4 bucks. Need I say more?

That's all for now. So what do you think?

Online Finds of the Day

Hee~ Decided to share what are the few things I saw online while browsing through their sites. Call me crazy. But I have an obsession with lingerie or what you call intimate wear. Maybe due to the fact that I am FOREVER having trouble finding something that is really sexy or nice and have it in my size.

Oh ya, first things first... It is no wonder that Victoria's Secret is doing SOOO well, as compared to other lingerie online sites or stores. Marketing and branding and SEX APPEAL does indeed play a very big part. As a woman myself, I am more inclined to buy something that the model wears in VS than in La Senza. Due to the very fact that the model looks damn hot or cute wearing that. More than La Senza. Well, we women have vanity to satisfy right. :)

So, starting first, just want to highlight this particular babydoll sleepwear on the right.

I saw it on sale in La Senza Singapore stores. I am not sure if it will be cheaper anot. But well, it is ON SALE. :) If you are interested, and stay in Singapore, can go and have a look. It is selling at CAD$29.50 on the La Senza site. I'm sure Singapore should be cheaper by a bit?

Mentioned that I ordered 2 batches from Victoria's Secret right. Well, the item on the left, the Very Sexy® 100-way strapless convertible bra, is on 25% Off, and is also the item that has the most quantity in my order. I think there are around 5 orders for this bra. And it is backordered, which means that it is really popular. For USD$37-39 bucks, 100 ways seems value for money yeah. But I did not order. As I want to try out if the sizing for VS's bra suits me first. If it does, this is one bra I am investing in!
Click here to find out more about this bra.

Victoria's Secret actually sells more than bras and lingerie, they do sell dresses and clothing. And seriously, I love some of their dresses. If only the ones that I fancies do not cost so freaking expensive. ARGH. Sigh.

Anyway, here are some of the dresses that I Lurve. Anyone want to get it for me? Hee~ I am size M.

Victoria's Secret Semi Annual Spree

I've just ordered two batches of stuff from Victoria's Secret (VS). Of course they are not wholly mine as I will be too crazy to order so much stuff for myself only, not to mention awfully rich too. But I could say that I did spent quite a substantial amount of money. Hee~

Some of the stuff I have been eyeing for ages. But due to the high price tag, I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Of course, there have alwayz been an issue of shipping costs too. But when VS starts it's semi annual spree and prices starts to get really low. And when I also stumble upon this discount code that essentially offset the shipping costs if I can hit the order amount of USD$250, I knew that I shoud not wait any longer. This is the time. If I do not ordered it now, when do I do it?

So with the combined orders of me and my friends, I not only managed to hit USD$250. I had to order two batches. Hee~ Now just to wait for the items to be shipped and delivered.

Not sure when the sale will end, but if you are interested in VS stuff. Please do go and take a look at the sale. Especially on the clearance section. You have panties going as low as USD$2.99 and bras going as low as USD$12.99. And for those who thought that you can get it from the stores, think again. The online VS store and the VS stores in US are not really affliated. In fact, you can't do an exchange of stuff you bought online at their stores and vice versa. And truth is, there are a lot more stuff online than there is in their stores.

需要你 I need you - by 孙燕姿

I love this song. It grows on me. It is not the first song that caught my attention when I listen to her latest album, Ni Guang. But it is the type that grows on you.

A song that tugs the heart. Just by looking at the lyrics, you can understand the situation or the mood which the heart is experiencing at that moment of time.

With thoughts, knowledge and feelings constantly being refreshed by new experiences and incidents, the same song can provoke different type of emotions at different stages of life.

This song touched me. Does it means that I need someone?
Very simple and straightforward lyrics. The kind of lyrics I always wanted to be able to write.
Very simple and straightforward melody. Yet lingers in your mind type of chorus. The kind of songs I always wanted to write. Why is it so difficult?

Must Listen! *****

MAC Fluidline (Blacktrack) Eye Liner

I have only started to use eyeliner only about half a year ago. In the past, I alwayz wonder "What is the fascination with eyeliner???" Especially when you look at those "overly" lined eyes. And of course, my concern have alwayz been that it will smudged badly. I mean, mascaras that boast to be waterproof or smudgeproof SMUDGED on me. Let alone eyeliner, which is to be lined as close to lashline as possible to be good.

But when I start to realize how great my cousin's eyes look with the alwayz very black eyeliner, and after I overheard her mentioned how waterproof and smudgeproof this eyeliner is, I cannot resist the urge to ask her what brand is it and where can I get it. :) I mean, if it can survive a swim in a swimming pool and come out intact, it is GOOD right! Besides, you would really be surprised at how much of a difference lining your eyes can be. Bigger and more defined immediately.

So that is when I discover the MAC Fluidline. And with that, I discover another bonus point for this particular eyeliner. It is easier to apply than the liquid ones, or the pencil ones. At least for me. The application of this liner is done using a brush. Either a fine tip one (like liquid eyeliner) or flat angled one. (see picture)

Of course, it does not have to be a MAC brush, I bought mine from SASA at SGD$4.90.
It is something I cannot do without now, and one pot can last very long. Very long indeed.

MAC Fluidline: SGD$27.00
available in many different colors.

FANCL Stick Concealer

For someone like me who is suffering from an outbreak of adult acne (argh, all caused by stress and depression) which left red, ugly scars easily on my face, it is alwayz an ordeal to find a good concealer to hide the scars.

Well, of course everyone knows that concealing it is not a long term solution. And of coz I am seeking active remedies to curb the adult acne outbreak. Meanwhile, as the medicines are taking their time to heal, one can't expect me to go out with cheeks that is covered with red, ugly patches right. :(

Before I left for Vietnam, I went to FANCL to stock up on my Mild Cleansing Oil. While browsing through the store, I came across the stick concealer and decided to buy it on impulse.

It's a good impulse I must say. :)

FANCL advocates preservative-free products. That is, all their products contains no preservatives. Which can be a good thing and bad thing depending on how you see it.

Good being well, natural things can't really cause much reactions to your skin right. Bad being, well, no preservative means it can't last long, and means it expire fast.

For most of FANCL's cosmetics, the expiry duration is normally 1 year after opening. Don't ask me what will happen if you continue to use it after 1 yr, I've never tried before. :) But imagine eating some food that is past its expiry date after a while.

Anyway, that is just one thing about this concealer, at least I know it would not irritate my already irritated-angry-acne-filled face.

It is easy to blend it into my skin. If I find it a hassle to dab it over my scars, I will just swipe a few streaks over my scars and then blend it using my fingers. (What can one do when one have a LARGE area to cover? Sigh. )

Most importantly, it covers up the redness effortlessly. Which says alot about its coverage. :) I like it. ZA concealer used to be good enough for my slight pimples here and there. But now, it is no longer effective enough to cover up the consequences of my latest outbreak.

It can be used under the eyes to cover up dark circles too. Make sure you hydrate your eye area well with an appropriate eye cream before you use the concealer under the eyes and it shouldn't cause creasing or streaking due to dryness.

One thing about it though, is that the casing and the concealer is sold separately. Yes. The blue casing you see above, is sold separately. The silver casing that slots into the blue casing contains the concealer, and is refillable. So price might be a consideration for some.

Casing: SGD$14.00
Concealer (refill): SGD$25.00
But for the coverage and the preservative-free ingredients, I can say I do not mind paying abit more for it. (At least for the first time)

Eyez are the windows to the soul

And so they say.

I've alwayz known that blogging is a long term commitment. That is if you are really intending to blog. Of course, being who I am, unless I am sure I can do it well, normally I wouldn't take such risk.

So what prompt me to accept my Vietnam's assignment? I really don't know. And since I have no room for regrets (and thus turn tail and run back immediatey), so I might as well try to achieve some value-added activities in my dissatisfied life.

For someone that reads as much forums, who love to suck up knowledge like a large sponge, who loves everything pretty and gorgeous (that is if they look like that on me only), my friends alwayz ask me for advice, comments, opinions on lots of things/stuff. Of coz, if I didn't know anything about it then, I will make it a point to find out what I can about it.

I am someone who takes security in KNOWLEDGE.

Selfish right, if I did not share what I gleaned.
Maybe that is why I am suffering from the strings of bad luck and setbacks and sorrows and misfortunes. (And so I am linking it). :)
I am not a person who reveals my inner thoughts to public, at least THOSE really inner thoughts, so the purpose of this blog is not a diary. I will try to consolidate all knowledge (aka, beauty tips, beauty products, beauty whatever, and of coz some other miscellaneous stuff) that I think is relevant and useful (of coz, as again, using myself as a base to measure relevance and usefulness) here.

Hopefully, it will not end up as the numerous projects that I have undertake in the past, neglected and forgetten in the name of work (and laziness).

Bottomline, I am someone who craves recognition. Hee~ If I feel that it is worth it and help satisfy my craving, I will be putting my efforts into it. No doubt.

And now, what is my first official post going to be about? :)
Off to Flowerpod or Cozycot to take a look.
:)
